The Spirit of Koko Collection

KoKo, Kokoro's first design initiative, was inspired by Japan's traditional Kokeshi dolls.

Traditional Kokeshi dolls, which have been around for hundreds of years, are believed to protect their owners from evil and bring good luck. They also represent goodwill and strong bonds.

The Japanese word "Ko," meaning child, combined with Kokoro's "Ko," gave birth to the Koko series, symbolizing this union. Kokeshi dolls became the guiding light of Koko's philosophy. The Koko series was created to raise awareness of the challenges faced by girls deprived of basic needs and the right to education. A new perspective was brought to Kokeshi dolls, and objects were designed by master glass artists using traditional glass-blowing techniques.

Each piece captures the lively and unique spirit of a child, waiting to blossom. Despite the delicate nature of glass, its robust structure, ability to take on different hues in light or dark, and organic form make each design uniquely individual.

Each piece of the Koko series is lovingly crafted from Kokoro's heart to bring good luck to its owner and empower a girl in need to boldly reveal her true colours.
